Befitting its origins, this documentation still retains some of its
NeXT specific character, particularly the Section called Sound Hardware in Chapter 2 and can sometimes err on the side of being
“promotional” in tone. The majority of the document is
however platform independent. Over subsequent releases, we intend to
rewrite the redundant material, and clarify the confusing. Please

To gain a quick overview of the capabilities of the Kits and to decide whether to investigate further, read Chapter 1. Class and Functions are well described in this book, but fully referenced in separate documents comprising the MusicKit framework documentation and SndKit framework documentation.
